My Journey from $0 to $1 Million

Today we hit 30K in Twitter follows and $30K in Create 24/7 sales.

If you had told me this would be possible 1 year ago, I would have called you crazy. My biggest takeaway: Always bet on yourself.

This journey has been fun. I have been reflecting a lot lately. Below are my notes.

This is what I would tell myself if I was starting today. Enjoy.

1. Know you are high-value (or at least fake it).

High-value individuals have aspirations. They aren’t sitting around waiting for things to happen. They make things happen. High-value individuals will work toward goals without letting anyone else get in the way.

When you have self-worth you will work harder to give yourself the life you deserve. It is expected.

Value yourself and feel worthy.

2. Always invest in yourself.

The benefits of self-improvement last a lifetime. You will continually reap the rewards. When you begin to go down the path of self-improvement it will impact your rate-of-return in every avenue of life.

The knowledge you gain compounds. Growth becomes exponential.

If you do this long enough you will become unrecognizable.

3. Believe in yourself.

Building wealth is primarily a mental game. Believing you can become wealthy is the first step.

If you don’t have the belief that you can change your life, you never will.

Behavior always follows beliefs.

4. Marry the right person.

The person you marry is the biggest financial decision you make (in more than one way).

The right person will lead to prosperity.  The wrong person will lead to ruin.

Choose wisely.

5. Understand how taxes work.

Understanding how taxes work in your country is the quickest and easiest way to generate wealth.

The Truth: Taxes are complicated to keep smart people at the top. Smart people are capable of exploiting loopholes.

Not smart people have no clue how taxes work. That is why they stay poor.

Learn how I built wealth while paying $0 a year in taxes.

6. Understand the real definition of wealth.

Net worth = Assets - Liabilities

I do not care what you read on the internet. This is no other definition.

A wealthy person is someone that has a sustainable lifestyle through THEIR assets.

It can last for years through investments/ businesses that produce multiple income streams.

That's it.

7. Dream about your future life.

Picture your ideal life down the road. These dreams will motivate you on your journey. They will also provide direction.

Imagine sitting on the beach running a social media empire while drinking margaritas.

It’s possible. Let your dreams for tomorrow be your motivation for today.

8. Avoid fiscally irresponsible people.

Also known as the "Joneses"

The Joneses want to look wealthy, not be wealthy. They seek wealth for status.

They want to impress others because they are a slave to other peoples opinions.

The better option is to not care what others think.

Not caring what other people think is a superpower.” - Ed Latimore

9. Have children.

This is counterintuitive.

Thinking children are expensive (and not having them) is a terrible mindset.

It's also wrong because having children will bring you energy.

When you have a child you will move mountains for them to ensure that they have a bright future.

10. Read the right books.

The right books will shape your mind and influence you in positive ways. Only consume the best information if you want to be wealthy. (Likewise, turn the TV off)

  • Think and Grow Rich - Napolean Hill

  • The Automatic Millionaire - David Bach

  • Your Money or Your Life - Vicky Robin

  • Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki

  • The Millionaire Next Door - Thomas Stanley

These are all great books to get you started on your financial journey.

Good books = Good mental influence

11. Skip Starbucks Coffee.

Many small BAD habits will make you poor.

Starbucks is also garbage coffee. It's like eating at McDonald's (have some class).

Over 30 years the money you spent would be worth 300K in real assets.

Starbucks coffee goes right down the toilet.

It’s only one small habit and that’s not chump change.

12. Be Charitable.

Become selfless, not selfish. Giving to charity puts life into perspective. It gives meaning.

There is a reason why you are building wealth. Lige is more than just 1s and 0s.

13. Understand luck doesn’t exist.

"Luck is when preparation meets opportunity." - Seneca

Everyone creates their own path and the most important ingredient is perseverance.

What matters is that you work every single day on making your dreams a reality.

14. Embrace the Stoic Mindset.

You will never have enough when you look at what you own. Society is built to leave you wanting more. It's a Trap.

Instead, compare yourself to those who are poorer.

Your lifestyle will seem a lot richer. Wealth is all about perspective.

15. Enjoy Being Uncomfortable.

Society wants to be comfortable. And that is why most of society stays stuck. They want to be there.

Wealthy people on the other hand enjoy taking risks. Wealthy people are driven by uncertainty.

Uncertainty energizes them. Embrace it.

16. Embrace Optimism.

Optimistic people live in the future. Pessimistic people live in the past.

It is no coincidence that the wealthiest people I know are also the most optimistic.

Stop dwelling on things that happened to you years ago. None of that will help your future.

17.  One million is nice but it’s just a start.

Most people make their first million and become content (I’m looking at you FIRE movement).

This is a mental blunder. Instead, start thinking “This where life begins.”

You now have FU money. Use it to begin to shape the world. Put it to work.

One million is when you begin to make things happen.
